Stoneinlay in blade?

Has any of you ever tried stone inlay in the knife blade?
I'm not thinking a heavy duty bushcraft knife or anytinhg, but more like a show knife.

This is my plan so far:

I will use greenish soapstone as blade inlay and as spacer behind the guard.
I made a test piece, and did the stone inlay. I was quite surpriced how tough it is. Its only glued with CA glue.

Any of you have any experience with this og maybe a cool example of which results you can achive?

I've seen a gemstone set into a blade and I would guess that what you're talking about has been done before although I've not seen it. As you say, probably not a good idea for anything but a display knife to have stones set into the blade like that. However, I often used stone spacers on the handles of my hunting and kitchen knives ...

One thing to keep in mind is the expansion and contraction rates of the two materials and give your self proper clearances for the stone. Iíve also seen stones set in a blade but not captive like yours.

Give it a go, I have learned far more from trying new things instead of just doing what the crowd is currently into.
