progress on first knife

Hi all,


Here are some pictures of the progress on my first knife.







The handle has to be sanded and polished !

specs :
Steel: RWL-34
Length: 22,5 CM
Thickness: 3,5 MM
Handle: micarta

What do you guys think of it ?

I think it looks a little too good to be a first knife!

How is that guard attached?

it really is my first knife, so i'll take that as a compliment.

I started with it in januari (see thread: http://www.ckdforums.com/showthread....ghlight=gunmen )

It took me such a long time, becouse i didn't have the means to heat treat it. Now i have bought a KILN, that can reach the temperature needed. I also bought a digital thermometer.

I had a problem with the guard, i couldn't find the right solder to fix it, so i followed the tutorial on ckd: solderless guards.

In the tutorial they mentioned something called JB weld. Since i live in Holland, and i can't get that stuff over here, i used STEEL EPOXY.

btw. i only use hand tools, exept for the polishing. Then i use a machine..
