slipjoint ???

I'm building my first slipjoint and I was wondering if the blade and spring are the same thickness?

Yes, unless you use washers on the blade. Most don't. Some people sand a very slight taper on the front of the spring. just .001"-.002" or so.

No, it's always under tension, so a drop of super glue on the outside end is all it needs, especially if you use fragile scale material.
