A bit of Steampunk
For my fellow Steampunks...here's an Airship Pilot First Class ceremonial dirk, meant to be worn with the dress uniform. O1 blade with a Spanish notch, bone grip. The sheath and frogs are brass-bound ray skin. The larger frog has medallions purchased from Phil and Kayja Foglio (Creators of "Girl Genius" web comic), showing pilot's rank and the sigil of Haus Wolfenbach. __________________ Charles D. Bravo and Huzzah! Another Foglio Fan!
And a wonderful piece of work it is. I can totally understand using ray skin, with Minmoth leather in such short supply. A lovely job. |

True about the hides. Even worse is trying to use mimmoth tusk for anything but toothpicks. Have you any idea the numbwer of tusks and intricate laminating needed to make a grip? Sheesh!
