can you please help identify the maker of this knife

As i posted at other forums i bought this knife from a german
air force pilot who only remembered that he bought it around 1980 in New Mexico near a town called Ruidoso or Rudioso or alike.
On the blade (made from a file) are the initials > DB <
Also on the sheat, but here the D and B are a little overlapping.
The sheat has cutouts and the scales are from bone.

I bought it because it fits my gunbelt with the two SAA`s perfect,
but knowing the maker would also be very nice.

THX for any help

this seems not to be an easy one

BTW i made a mistake, the overlapping letters are on the blade, but i`m afraid this will not help further.

I posted this over on the Outpost, and it's only a guess deduced from the info given--other than that?????? Best I can find is a maker named David Banks of Riverton, Wyoming. His mark is his initials "DB" connected to each other. He forges his blades, uses mostly bone, horn and exotic woods for handles. Might be the maker, might not. His address and phone number are in the current and past--back to 1994 "Knives XX" (where XX = the year) books published by Krause Publications, publisher of Blade Magazine. You might want to contact him for confirmation. Good luck.

If you have toruble finding his address, e-mail me via my website link at the bottom of my post, and I'll send it to you. Not knowing the gentleman, I'm a bit hesitant to put it on the forum.
