dual drive Rolling mill
Has anyone tried hooking and electric motor to the hand rolling mills. Has anyone built a rolling mill where both rollers turn. Did you uses two gearboxes or a countershaft so the throat height can be adjusted while both rolls turn. Any thoughts? thanks

are you talking about a cheap import jewelry type rolling mill used to make non ferrous sheet and wire? if so the gears probably wouldn't take the stress and most don't open more than a 1/4 of an inch.

Yes the ones with 5" rolls etc. They appear to have a dual drive probably like my sheetmetal roller, its teeth are tall enough to mesh when adjusted up and down. I've never got my hands on one of those mills with the larger rollers. I've seen some steel rolling mills on Ebay but 20k is a bit much. Those mills have a dual drive shaft which allows the rolls to be seperated.
