Some Pics of KITH and other projects
Here are a few pics of my raw KITH and some other projects. I am using Dropbox since I can quickly upload pics and don't have to resize. Clicking on the link is no big deal. Makes my life much easier.
I scrapped my idea of a Santoku blade out of 1/8" 1080 since Ray heavily suggested us forged types should try 440C or similar. So I decided to at least try to compete and have decided on what I call a Kansas City Brisket Slicer in .100" 440C, probably with black paper micarta scales and stainless corbys. 8 1/2" blade, full flat grind. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qli8nsgu8k88aow/DSC04475.JPG My first attempt at a hollow grind, on an old Nicholson file. Was actually fun to grind. https://www.dropbox.com/s/althhyix4y8clh9/DSC04472.JPG My version of a Morseth Model 2 in 5160, soon to be with a sambar stag handle, flat grind. Will be my personal knife. Stingray sheath eventually. Borrowed a pic of one I really like and want to copy. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kt88u6tzaz4sr5g/DSC04466.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/s/u3sekbx6kxm0swd/DSC04468.JPG Here is the KITH blade, the hollow ground file blade, the Morseth style Model 2 and a 10 1/2" 5160 Bowie I am still working on for a boar hunter buddy in Alabama. https://www.dropbox.com/s/eo2to84bb5phs1x/DSC04478.JPG See you in the chat. BC thanks for drooling! It is a Cliff Carroll's 125 pounder. Yes it is a farriers anvil but has a great step, wide horn and very nice edges and ring to it. I tried to buy some used anvils around my Kansas/Missouri area and they were all well used and they wanted $$$$ too much for them. Found it at a rural farm store for around $550 + tax. Couple more pics when it was new.

These are my work from the last two weeks. The first three pics are of the same knife, the last is a different blade. The first is a 100 layer billet, the second 196.

I haven't gotten to work on any blades lately, been forging some other things and trying to get my work area in better shape. I did make 2 different style of tongs for flat stock, I hope to put them to use soon.
