Linerlock by a newbie
I have been making fixed blade knives for about a year and have recently gotten interested in folders. After a lot of reading on this forum and several others, I tried my first one a few weeks ago. I want to say a big thanks to Ray Rogers. The linerlock tutorial on his website is fantastic. Using Ray's instructions, I designed my knife and completed every step of the construction.
I just finished my second linerlock this weekend. Here's the details on it: Blade length: 2 5/8" Overall length: 6 1/4" Blade: O1 Bolsters: Black paper micarta Scales: Brown canvas micarta Liners: .04 titanium Backspacer: Black paper micarta Backstop pin: 1/8" 416 stainless Screws: 2-56 stainless All critical comments and tips for improvement are welcome. That knife looks terrific! I wish my second one looked that good.
I also used Ray?s tutorial for my first folder, I have made several now and I still go back and reread some parts. Nice work racinca. Brett |

Thanks for your comments gentlemen. Don, you are definately right about getting hooked on this. I'm already thinking of a design for the next one. That will be a project for the long weekend.

Looks Awesome!
I really like the lines when it's open. Blade and handle go nicely together! One observation - No finger nail 'snick' or thumb studs for opening? It does look like there is plenty of blade available to get a grip to open.. and perhaps the pictures didn't show the 'opening assist' method. Still, great looking knife! |
