Wow. Love the shape of the handle...nice curves. What steels did you work with before stainless? How did you find ATS to work with? Chris |

I've tried 1095, 1084, L-6, 5160, and 52100. ATS-34 was a pain in the but to grind, went through several belts there! I was also disipointed in performance as compared to my personal favorite, 52100. Would like to try CPM440V and CPM10V next |

William, Do you have a good source for 52100. If so, Website, Address or Teelphone number would be greatly appreciated. Bob Sigmon PS Nice knife |

Sory, I get it from the scrap bins of several comercal equipment shops. It's a constant scavenger hunt to get bearing that are big enough. Not to mention that nearly all roller bearings are case hardend. Have to test each one. Last small batch got a box of 30+year old ball bearings from flea market. Admiral Steel has 3/4 rond bar and I'm 'bout ready to try some of that. Sheffeild Knife Maker's Supply now has 1 1/2 x1/8" 52100 bar stock, got a 36" bar in today and will have to make and test a blade to see if it performs as well as forged 52100. |

William, Thanks for the info. Kinda what I thought you would say. I am not able to forge, so I have to try the bar stock. Thanks, Bob Sigmon |
