Another attempt at stacking material on bolsters.

This one is 1084 I stacked some copper and blue liner material together, I'm going to use some ironwood for the scales.

Did you run a pin through it or create some kind of mechanical bond for those little pieces? If not, they can be knocked off the handle ...

No I didn't, explain to me how you do it.

I don't do it because after making a couple of knives with bolsters I decided that bolsters are simply a bad idea. But, if I was building your knife I would:

1) clean up the blade and get it finished before doing anything about bolsters. No point in building bolsters that need to fit flush against the blade when the blade is still going to change as you clean it up.

2) I would drill two tiny holes through the copper and blue liner and into the edge of the bolster, then run a pin through the small parts to secure them to the bolster. At this point, I would have the copper and liner wider than the edge of the bolster so that once everything was attached I could then grind it all down together and insure everything fit up correctly

There are many ways that a knife can be assembled but only a few will result in the best possible fit and finish. Think it through ....

That makes since, my fear was drilling holes like you say and after shaping running into those holes.
