Lock back whittler
This is a fun knife to make and it took me forever to get it finished. CPM-154 integral 416 liners and bolsters and jigged bone handles.
Thanks for looking Craig Last edited by Craigb; 07-02-2017 at 11:30 PM. Reason: Fix broken link |

Don't think I have ever seen a lockback in that style of folder. Great work! I had a store bought, like that when I was a kid. I think it was a Case but, went out on my trapline and had a pair of pants on the had a hole in the pocket. When I discovered it missing I walked the entire trapline looking for it. Watch for it all winter and never saw it again!

I want that knife to look so good you just have to pick it up, feel so good in your hand you can't wait to try it, and once you use it, you never want to put it down ! If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner! C Craft |

Nice work Craig. Sorry about your loss C Craft, take comfort in knowing that your not alone in the "hole in the pocket club".

Great looking whittler, Craig.
I am looking at making one and I like your design, Did you come up with it yourself or did you have a pattern. Any other info on it would be gratefully received. Cheers Mark Last edited by Madwilson; 08-22-2015 at 09:04 PM. Reason: Accidently put in text not needed |

Thanks everyone.
The main blade locks and the 2 smaller blades are slip joints. I have a pattern I will try a scan for you Madwilson. |

A fantastic knife. I love slipjoints, and am just starting to build some, just for myself. I have fallen in love with this pattern of lockback whittler. I am hoping to be able to make one of these when I have mastered the slipjoint mechanics.
Truly admire your ability to pull this one off. Wolfe |

That is awesome! I would love to try my hand at making a whittler, but have thus far been quite intimidated. That is very nice work!
