Unhappy Camera Died ???

I bought a fuji finepix S3000 last year off ebay, now it suddenly will not turn on. I tried new batteries, i tried cleaning the terminals. Just nothing. Can these things be fixed or am I better off just biting the bullet and buying a new camera?
Thanks for the help.
Steve

Don't let Tracy start spending all your money.... I know with Canon, I just looked on their website and found out their policy on out of warranty repairs. Was directed to the official repair center nearest me. Filled out an on-line form, printed it to include with my broken camera, sent it in, no problems. What made it reasonable was that they take a look at the camera, prepare an estimate and get your OK before proceeding with repairs - so you don't have to risk paying more for repair than the camera is actually worth. I assume Fuji is similar.

On the other hand, buying a new one makes sense if you're wishing your old camera would do this or that. The new ones, whether point 'n shoot or DSLR, represent incredible values. It's amazing one can get such technology for so little money!

Balony, he uses Canadian dollars so it only costs half as much anyway. New Camera! New Camera! Two knives out the door and he's got a real nice rig to play with.
