I can relate to two things. No heat in the garage, and being hell and gone.I live in Waterford.right on the Muskingum River in the south east part of the state.I too am just making the transition from bought blades to stock removal, only thing I've made so far is a bunch of sparks but i'ts coming.

Moon, you know where to click around here to find the knowledge base, right? Ask questions, figure things out. You're welcome here. Gone are the days that a guy had no one nearby to talk with about knife making.

Any Ohio Makers still active?

Hello!

I know this is an old thread, but I noticed there were several makers that were not too far from me. I'm in the Akron area, and just getting started. It would be great to connect with others.

Gene,

Ron Ellis aka Hammerdownnow in this same thread, passed away a few years ago. He was an awesome friend. He and I never met, but we use to chat on pal talk and we were both members of several forums were we used talk about like and knifemaking. You would have liked him.

Rookie

So I'm moving from arizona to parma heights cleveland area. Want to become a knife maker. Anyone willing to take on an apprentice or just hangout and show me the ropes. I'm a plumber by trade. Takin a couple of classes for a day just to get feet wet. But rather learn from a pro. I'm all ears and love to soak knowledge like a sponge. Also have a garage so I'd buy any necessary tools to get started. Thanks for any responses or help.
