Rule Change

Hey, I'll play moderator here and see how many I can tic off. While this forum is on the Custom Knife Directory, it is still mainly a photography forum. Shooting the same knife over and over can dull the creative senses. There are times when you get "the move" or the vision for a shot and all that is around is a factory knife. One of the best shots I've taken was a result of being in the woods for a weekend and the only knives I had were factory knives. Now this forum is not about me but I can't see restricting someone by binding them to a rule on what is a custom knife. Let everyone shoot what they may and enter. Those that don't like factory blades can vote for what they like. Ideally the objective is to vote for the best photograph NOT the best knife.
At the same time, this forum is to learn how to take better photographs. The matter of rather it helps a maker sell knives by placing better shots on his web site may be helpful, but that is not the main reasoning behind the forum. So lets see some knives!
RULE CHANGE NO.1
Photographs may be of a custom or factory knife. This may also include tomahawks, axes, and swords.

Cool

I suppose those who dont like the new rule can vote for whatever they like, and thats the way it should be.

Whether or not a factory knife even gets any votes is not the main thing either....if it helps everyone to improve thier pics even a little then it has served its purpose.

Thanks Terrill

look out ... Terrill is moderating, could the end be near?

I would like to see more custom non-knife stuff like swords and axes oh my ...

I am not a booster of factory knives but I do have my share, mostly for use when I fear the loss of a custom. Or to give to people to get them away from the really cheap factory knives.

####, that was fun. I'll have to make another decision in a year or two just to keep my hand in. No Alex, I won't alter the "No naked women" rule.

Neil, you're right, just send me one of your knives and I put it in instead. I'll even return the knife in a year or two, or three.
OK Bob, play nice and I'll let you play with my camera in Ohio.
