Second knife...

William, I know what you mean by the shallow grave! This one almost met an untimely death on several occasions! It was frustrating at times. I'm sure my wife is happy that I'm finished with the darned thing. :

Mike, glad to hear that someone else is in the same boat as myself. I'd be lying if I told you that those were the original handles that were meant for this knife. I had to whack off a beautifull pair of California buckeye burl handles because one had slipped just a hair from the bolsters overnight as the epoxy was setting up. I never felt so sick before. All a part of learning I suppose.

Too many knives, not enough time. Off to the next one.

Chris

Second knife...

Thanks once again guys. John, I don't have your experience yet (far from it). Maybe after 200 knives myself I'll be able to better appreciate your compliments and see where you've been.

I feel as though I move at a snails pace as compared to some of you though.

Second knife...

Bob, thanks man. Funny as it may sound, the thinner my handle material/bolsters got, I thoought of your style (you commented on another pic which shows the filework/thickness of the handle material better on the Display Forum). The more I worked it down, the more I liked it. It actually happened by accident one day as the grinder took off way more than I wanted on the burl handles! I worked with my mistakes, and that is what I came up...simple as that.
