Tapping

I'm wanting to start making folders, liner and slip joint, but am curious what's the best way to tap the handles, liners, frames? I see various tools & tool holders on the market, can anyone share their expertise on this with me?? Thanks, Dan.

For all of my 2 -56 taps and 0 -80 I use a 12v hand drill. It works great tapping in stainless and titanium. I have only broke 2-3 taps in the last couple of years.
Make sure you use one that is low torque and runit very slow,
Percy

Whatever method you use, always use spiral point taps.

You're welcome Dan.

Spiral point, not spiral flute.

Tap question, I've seen "H1" & "H2" taps in online catalogs from major companies, which style is used for knifemaking?? Anyone who can advise I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Dan
