Back in the Saddle.....sorta
Well, Cindy went back to work today, and I walked into the shop for the first time in about two weeks.
Just trying to figure out where I left off, and where to begin. I don't know if I have gremlins or what....but whoever left this place last sure left a mess behind! Spent the morning trying to sort things out, put stuff away, and just try to locate everything I dropped when all this began. OH! It's almost noon.....wondered why my "belly alarm" was going off. Time for a quick sandwich and then back at it. __________________ WWW.CAFFREYKNIVES.NET Caffreyknives@gmail.com "Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, and all your CONSEQUENCES are a result of your CHOICES." |

Glad to hear it Ed! Good luck on getting er all sorted. Sometimes there's a serenity in cleaning up like that, that ain't half bad for a guy's head. Well I saddled up (literally) yesterday evening after working in the shop for a while. Those little fellers of yours had been in my tack room. Bridled up the horse and my right rein was longer than my left. Didn't noticed till I went to stop him once and he stopped crooked. It was only 3/4" or so but enough to make a difference. Now how had that happened over night? Can only attribute it to California cousins of the Montana shop gremlin. Its a rare species and ya never see em but man they're tricksters.

Good your back at it. Hey keep them gremlins to yourself and stop sending them over here. Clean the shop and its right back to the way it was next time I go in. Nice to see things are slowly getting back to normal.

Ed when I was young my Dad taught me to put tools back where I got them from.
By the time I was fourteen I used to walk into my Dad's shop and wonder why my Dad would let his work benches get all piled up, you know nothing put back where it belonged.I just knew that my Dad had not left this mess. It must have been Gremlins! These days I tend to find my benches are looking more like my Dad's as he got older....................they tend to get all piled up, and I know it can't be me doing this.............. Gremlins does sound like a more plausible scenario, now that I think about it!!!!!!!! Good to see you back at it Ed! __________________ C Craft Customs With every custom knife I build I try to accomplish three things. I want that knife to look so good you just have to pick it up, feel so good in your hand you can't wait to try it, and once you use it, you never want to put it down ! If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner! C Craft |

I too seem to have an infestation of the California Shop Gremlin! I called the exterminators but they were no help. Looks like I have to deal with them myself.

It's funny you mention the bench being piled up..... I can remember as a kid, growing up on the farm, I noticed my Grandpa always painted the handles of his most used tools blaze orange. What's funny is that I've caught myself thinking that I need to so the same thing!
I spent today building a jig for the milling machine to cut serrations into the "Wreck" knives.....after spending big money on a diamond serration wheel, and botching it up by hand 3X.....it's time to make sure it works right every time! __________________ WWW.CAFFREYKNIVES.NET Caffreyknives@gmail.com "Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, and all your CONSEQUENCES are a result of your CHOICES." |
