Romano knives from Brazil... examples in brazilian knifemaking art

Dear Friends,

My name is Ricardo Romano, I'm a full-time knifemaker in Brazil since 1995. Here are two of the most recently knives I made:

The first knife is a sub-hilt model. ATS-34 blade, mirror polished blade, nickel-silver hilt and sub-hilt, ebony wood handle.

The second knife is a skinner model knife. 440-C steel, mirror polished blade, stainless steel hilt and buttcap, handle: ebony and hypopothamus tusk.

Thanks by viewing,

RICARDO ROMANO BERNARDES / RFA - BRAZIL

Pretty cool stuff, Ricardo. About as polished and professional looking as it gets. That first one looks like a Barney/Loveless exact replica. Todd

The second looks like a replica of a Randall knife. Nicely made!

Thanks by all comments, friend. As a full-time knifemaker since 1995, I make knives that resembles the ones I loved before I became professional knifemaker, like Randall knives and Loveless as well. But I have my personal designs, as the knive below:

ATS-34 steel blade, 6-3/4" blade, brazilian wood jacaranda-da-bahia handle (Dalbergia nigra) and a leather sheath of my own manufacture.

Very nice blade! Is your main market there in Brazil or abroad? I envy you the woods you have available to work with! Thanks for posting the pic. Todd (or "Toddy, sabor que alimenta!")
