Transmutation of metals
Here's an interesting link:
http://ignca.nic.in/ps_04014.htm I'm not interested in transmuting mercury to gold or silver, but what about transmuting steel to a "higher" state? Transmute: "To change or alter in form, appearance, or nature and esp. to a higher form." Websters |

Neat link Tai. Several recipies with borax, that's encouraging, I like borax. But I'd hesitate to use all that mercury, it would probably transmute me into a higher form. No need to rush that process; we'll all get somewhere else eventually whether we want to or not.

Cool link Tai. Will have to do some researching on this.

... bringing the "soul" of the steel to the surface.

Maybe it's the true nature of bladesmithing... "Transmuting the steel through different types of vibrations",... and in so doing, transmuting one's self.
