Sheath Conditioner?
I currently use Tan-Kote and wonder what and how often I should advise my clients on Conditioning and taking care of their sheath with? Any Advice is deeply appreciated.

Hi Austin,
I'm certainly not a pro here but have made about a dozen sheaths so far and can share my opinions based on those experiences. I think it depends somewhat upon what type of finish you prefer.... shiny, satin, or dull. I prefer satin and have settled on Eco Flo Carnauba Creme. I use Tan Kote to finish the hairy side of leather but that's it. I've tried Feibing's Leather sheen as a finish (which is acrylic based) but it leaves too shiny of a finish for my likes. There are so many different products made for this it's a little overwhelming and I'm also curious as what others use. __________________ Stay away from fast women and slow horses |

I predominately use Tankote - paint on/wipe off then follow up with wax or leather balm for semi-satin finish. For full satin, I hot paint a melted combination of bees wax/neatsfoot oil (pure) and warm it up with a heatgun to get a deep soak-in. Tried dipping, but wound up with too much wax inside the sheath which is a buggar to get out.
