Question Blade doesn't stop

Hello there. I'm new to this site, and I have a question!
I have a switchblade, it springs open great, but the blade doesn't stop, it goes all the way back and smacks my hand. I tried tightening the screw on top but that just increases the tension, and the blade still goes backwards. I tried looking this knife up, and I can't find anything on it.

sounds as if a major part is missing......like something to stop the blade and lock it open.
