Geeeze Mike. Ya coulda at least let me get some good photos! The Baby Bill's Drop and the Classic hunter, engraved by Julie Warenski aren't toooooo bad, but the others - they were rushed and I aint that talented, to boot!
Anyway, they are, in order, top to bottom: Baby Bill's Drop, stag, 2 1/2"' blade Classic Hunter, Mammoth, engraved by Julie Heavy duty loveless-style 5" Utility, stag. Blade grind only goes up about 2/3 of the way, bevelled clip, edge is close to .030" thick, tang not tapered too thin. Loveless-style wilderness blade, 6 1/2", single guard, Desert Ironwood Calendar Knife, Snakewood (FYI: The name, "Calendar Knife" came about when it was made for Harry Archer and Ken Warner back in the '70's, then ended up on a knife calendar, thanks to Ken. A customer in Europe saw it and wanted me to make him a "Calendar Knife," also, and the name just sort of stuck. Big Fighter, which is actually a Loveless-style Big Bear without the sub-hilt or lugs on the guard, desert ironwood, top grind stops about 3/4 of the way back. All blades have "AKI - 2005" etching. The show was great, many new and enthusiastic customers, as well as many of the old standard supporters were there. It's always a nice affair. __________________ http://www.srjknives.com NRA Endowment Member Knifemakers' Guild Member since 1971 "May you live all the days of your life." - Jonathan Swift Last edited by Steve; 10-31-2005 at 11:35 AM. |

Did you take any better pics of those last 4? If so send them to me and I will update it.
Last minute pics are better than no pics! I have took so many lame last minute pics that it is not funny! |

Nice! I like #2 above. That's a fine specimen of green mammoth ivory. Though it has the appearance of a straight knife - there's hardly a straight line anywhere. That's one sign of a master's touch.

Got pics, by Point Seven, of the Wilderness and the big fighter on the way, maybe another week. Thanks for looking.
That is nice ivory, have had it on hand for a year or two, finally had the chance to use it on the "right" knife; you know how it goes. Julie's work doesn't hurt either! __________________ http://www.srjknives.com NRA Endowment Member Knifemakers' Guild Member since 1971 "May you live all the days of your life." - Jonathan Swift |
