Finally....

Gene's video is available (finally). It's about 3 hours, making the knife below from barstock to sheath.

I am NOT a video maker, but the information on this tape will help get you going.
This HUNTER design is a good seller, it is easy to make, and can be sold in a variety of price ranges depending on how you dress it out.
3 Hours of info at a modest price.
About a dollar a year for my experience,HAHA!!!

Gene, I am interested in the video..Could you email me the phone #? I am going to take a digital photo right now and will be able to email it to anyone interested. Have a great day......carl

Already ordered my video. Looking forward to watching it.

Geno, as long as your message gets across to the buyer of the video, you ARE a video maker. I am interested in the quality of the information (which I am sure is in there) and as long as that gets conveyed you accomplished your goal (and mine).

Congrats.

Gene,
That's quite an undertaking, but I wondered if you have a Northern and Southern version so we don't need a translator!

Sorry Steve,No Yankee version, but LOTS of pictures though!
I'm afraid you couldn't understand my Yankee Slang either.
Even it has a southern draw to it. Yup! Kan't hep it.

Got my video today, watched it immediately. I would have paid the $20 just for the filework lesson.

Gene, you did a great job of explaining what you were doing and you cut away at the right times for the long work. I like the "on the steel" design work. I spend a lot of time drawing everything out on graph paper and then seem to alter it at the grinder anyway. Learned several new ways to accomplish some of the things it takes me a while to do.

Where do you get the little threaded studs you put into the handle for securing the handle materials? There must only be a couple of threads holding the handle on, do you use locktite or something similar?

On the video you do on folders, and yes you NEED to do one on folders, you may want to show your mug a couple of times.

Thanks for the video, it was well worth the investment.

Bob,
The filework is the funnest part.(except trading it for the cash)
My motto is to work smarter, not harder.
BTW the "on steel" design(as you call it)can be easily erased with any solvent, including WD40. I find it much easier than the paper drawings, the cutting, the pasting,ect...
Uni Corp sells the fittings. They call them stand offs.
Item # P105s/s, thier # is (973)674 1700
There are 4&1/2 turns per side to meet in the middle.
Yes on the Lock tight for the threads(blue).
I kept my ugly mug out of it for a reason. You get a quick profile when I'm stripping the mill scale off the sides, and a face reflection in the blade, but your gonna have to hunt for it
I would rather show you something pretty like a knife.

I was glad to share and hope it helps many many people

BE BLESSED!!!
