Ed,
We finally got the snow you sent... about 3 ft in the last few days. We really needed it. Now we're getting the cold. Was minus 26 last night and holding at minus 25 now but the sun is beginning to poke. Woodstove is keeping me at a balmy 70. __________________ Stay away from fast women and slow horses |

Can't believe how much some of you guys like the snow. I live in Canada and although stories of "the Great White North" are certainly exaggerated by some people, we can get some pretty heavy dumps of snow. Maybe I wouldn't mind so much if I had a snow blower. Shoveling the stuff by hand can sure get tedious. The older I get, the less of it I want to see. (Good grief, I'm starting to sound like my grandfather.) Right now the beaches in Cuba are looking pretty good.

We've been in a serious drought here for the last couple of years, very bad. Extra bad because we are also experiencing the worst beetle-kill (pines) in our lifetime. Entire forests of dead-standing trees and the loggers can't keep up with it... hence the massive and devastating fires we had last year. Any form of moisture is welcome up here at this time.

I'm having a hard time believing that there was a civilization so advanced and far sighted enough to predict the exact day of the end of the world............................................. ....but missed being totally conquered by the Spanish.
Maybe they should have spent a little more time preparing for that! __________________ John Doyle You have nothing to fear but fear itself...........and bears. |
