Reclining Lion Bowie

I've built several reproduction Bowies from Norm Flayderman's book and this is my latest. My inspiration (George Woodhead) had an etched blade where I gave this one a hamon instead. The blade is W2 & the hilt is MOP with N/S fittings. The sheath is a traditional leather over wood with N/S throat & tip.

Let me know what you think.

Gary

I'm a huge fan of Woodhead's bowies... you have really captured the essence with that one. Well done sir.

What is the plate coming down from the lion? I've never seen that on an English Bowie.

I can't tell you if other makers than Woodhead used the N/S overlay on top of the pearl but I've seen photos of his use of it. I would imagine that he did it just for a little more bling with the pearl.
