Searles Bowie Blade Grind Question.

Hi Guys,
I have commissioned a Searles Bowie replica and have a question concerning the grind along the edges of the spine. Can anyone let me know if the Original blade infact has a false edge running the full length of the spine from guard to tip.
Many thanks in advance.

Mark.

HI Gary,
Thanks for the help, but I think I was not clear with my original question. While I realise that the edges of the spine are ground with a bevel I would like to know if towards the tip of the blade whether or not the grind meets to form a (genuine)false edge or if the grinds remain seperate and just taper to a point.

Regards,
Mark.

I shot this one recently and do not recall a sharp edge anywhere along the spine though all grinds meet at the tip. However, in my photo it looks like there's an edge bevel on top for about the last 3 inches. My memory is for sure less reliable than my photo! Will reply again if I get more info.
