So where do striaght razors fall?

Had shop training this past weekend where I learned the art of making straight razors. So does this fall into that archaic area? If you'd like I did a photo set on the making and can post it. Still have to finish them but he figured I could finish sanding and putting on the handles without standing over my shoulder.

I for one would be interested in the photos! Been thinking about a straight razor project for a while. I have a lot of projects like that...

Thanks!
