Santoku

this is a little santoku i whooped up last week. I wanted to try the "brute de Forge" look, BCRob did one a while back and answered some of my questions at the time so I gave it a shot. (thanks Rob)

California Buckeye burl scales

Love the spotted finish along the spine--never seen anything quite like it (that's high praise in the knifemaking world!)

How did you manage that?

It's a very secret technique used with a tool called a ball peen hammer... Shhhh. Don't tell anyone!

LOL! I've seen plenty of hammer finished blades, but yours has a different look than most.
