A little chilly in Great Falls this morning!

For the last month, everybody around here has been wondering just where our winter was...well, today we found it!

Woke up this morning to a light snow falling, and a balmy -21F. But! the glass is half full! What better weather to "snuggle" up to the forge and get some thing done?

OK, here's the knife content.....finishing up a new 416/Mosaic San Mai folder for the ABS Expo, and working a a big chopper....the folder is easy....the tough part is hand finishing the "3 acres" of steel on the chopper!

well Ed
Were not as cold as you upper 20s low 30s
but we have about 14" of snow in the front yard this morning
should be gone in a couple of days.
This is rare for the low lands of western washington.

Same deal here. Went from mid 60's to mid teens llike overnight. Mon was bad cause we had that cold weather but also 40-45mph winds all day. That was cold. Last couple of days not as bad. Low 30's right now. Feels downright tropical without that wind. Had to quit typing for about a half hour, got tied up, now its a balmy 46. Mon evening dug my propane heater out and fired er up in the shop first time this year. Had a bunch of sheaths I was working on. Course ran out of propane after about 10 mins. Here in the Peoples Republic ya can't fill propane bottles after dark. So was done for the day. Good game last night Ed, she was 6 for 6 from the line and only 1 touched the rim. Hand finishing that chopper is gonna keep ya warm.

Sounds like she had a good game! Congrats!

There were some good men's NCAA games last night.....well at least one good one. KY walked all over Arkansas, but the Michigan/Michigan State game was down to the wire.

Now, back to hand sanding those "3 acres" of steel.

Kinda balmy this morning.....only -11F right now! Beach weather? That's about 40F around here....at least that's when you see everybody running around in shorts!

It's funny how we adapt to the environment we live in....two years ago my Mother in law came for Christmas....she lives in Plant City, FL......poor lady, we keep the house on 68 in the winter, and we have a pellet stove in the living room....we cranked it up to 72, and she was still freezing. There were several times that I simply had to go outside to cool down!

It's been unnaturally warm this winter here. Supposed to be 55 today. It's not right when its too warm to wear flannels in January. Its supposed to be more like a high of 15 in January.

Yeah, I have been wondering where the winter everyones been talking about has been. It was nice to wake up and see the snow falling. It made it an enjoyable drive to great falls. Working around the forge in this weather would be awesome!
