Let's use Lonesome Pine's Chat Room?

Lonesome Pine Knives has a chat room thats not being used up much.
This might be a good Sunday night 7pm eastern get your questions answers fast thing!
Maybe some of the master knife makers can visit knowing the word is out and some of us newbies might need help with the weekends project.
Let's make it a every Sunday deal.
Howard

We should take advantage of every resource we have. Thank you Howard for pointing out another one.

If you would rather talk than type, everyone is also invited to drop by Steve Pryor's 'A Custom Knifemakers Chat Room' on Paltalk (under the Miscellaneous Group). Many knifemakers are there every night including Larry Harley who hosts the Lonsome Pines chat room ...

I tried to load Paltalk. And my PC just sit's there even after 30 minutes. I E-mailed and called my ISP, they had no answers. I have even found out I do not recieve some e-mails. I know that I am not the only one I have heard several people say the have probloms too. I understand it is the phone companys not the ISP's.
Well, the chat room was just a thought.

Any chance you can change the kind of service you have? Get a cable or DSL connection - anything that's a different gateway to the net? Even if it's the same phone company, a change like that could change your route enough to get things to work the way they should.

It's hard to imagine how the phone company could be responsible for your problems unless they particularly were trying to block Paltalk because they were afraid of losing long distance revenues.

Another thing to try is get a free ISP account from Netzero and see if you can download Paltalk through that. If it works, you would know your current ISP is the problem (perhaps it's provided by the phone company?) and switching to another provider or adding a good dialup service like WebsbestISP could get you going .......

Howard,

If that doesn't work out, let me know. Maybe I can download it onto a disk and mail it to you. I'm in the country too and have a 19,200 connection. It's slow but I can get it downloaded.....

I have put the paltalk software on my server so you can download it. You will still need to register your username on the paltalk website at www.paltalk.com . The file is 1.7MB and is named pal_install.exe.

Let me know if you can get it or not. Here is a direct link to the file. http://www.jeridjohnson.com/CKD/pal_install.exe

Howard,
Once you login into paltalk you will want to select the Groups button. A new window will appear and will contain a list of categories. Go to the end of the list and double click on Miscelaneous. Search the list that loads for a group called 'A Custom Knifemakers Chat Room' If the room is not open it will not be on the list. You will just need to login and check to see if it is open. Most evenings folks are in the room.

Jerid
