Logan,
There's no good way to answer your question with any degree of certainty from a picture. It would be my guess that this is a cheap imported knife that probably has a Damascus blade made from almost any type(s) of steel. Just because someone has welded two steels together doesn't make it quality. If fact, using the wrong steels can be much worse than a monosteel blade. BEWARE! You usually get just what you pay for and this one is cheap. My $.02 Gary __________________ Gary ABS,CKCA, ABKA,KGA |

at that price its probably fake..theres not many knife makers I know who would do a piece of Damascus that cheap much less make a knife and a sheath for that price...

A few years ago I purchased a knife very much like that one at a gun show. I bought it solely for the blade, the handle was poorly done.
The blade is Damascus, but like someone above said, not high quality. It wouldn't keep an edge even without use. I disassembled it, and since I don't have the equipment, sent the blade out to be heat treated. Then put my own handle on it. That made a world of difference. The random pattern now shows up much better, AND it keeps a good edge. I've looked at the blades offered by that web site and have been wondering about the quality with such low prices. Thanks to your post, I now know where my blade originally came from. I think I'll stick with K&G supply and Jantz for my knife materials. |

Check the handle. It has been ground through the horn and into the interior pith. not good.
