What is this?
I've seen this picture of David Boye many times. He seems to be standing in the desert making knives, presumably.
What the heck kind of grinder is that beast he is working at? I also see on the Boye website that their shop burned to the ground on the 3rd. Best wishes to them as they re-build. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

I've seen similar grinder setups used in industrial applications, it grinds both sides of the blade at once, I think. I've never seen one out in the middle of the desert though....
I need to find my copy of his book, bought back in 92... __________________ A good friend told me one time about forging "What is there not to like, you get to break all the rules you were told as a kid, don't play with that it is sharp, don't play with fire, and don't beat on that" Wade Holloway See some of my work. |
