survival knife

Lately I have been enjoying several shows, Survivor Man and Man vs Wild. What style/ length do you carry when you are out in remote areas?

I always carry my Bark River Knife and Tool Evolution One (Blackjack Mamba re-release).
It's a 9.5 inch recurved blade which has struck terror in the hearts of many a 2x4, garnered compliments from the ladies, jealous glances from the men, and gleeful admiration from the wee ones.

The mother to a good friend of mine is the neighbor of 'survivorman'.
I'd like his opinion on it, as I haven't yet seen the show.

When I am hiking or camping I carry a hawk, small friction folder and a my RR spike knife. The spike knife is always good way to catch another hikers attention and find other knife enthusiasts. It is very obvious that it is not a knife from Wally World.

When I go out and know I'll be at least a couple of miles from civilization I always carry two tools/knives. The first is a Leatherman Wave for general work and small detailed cutting. The second, and most important, is my "doctored up" version of a kurkri with a cordwrap over micarta handle. The blade holds a great edge and can be used for just about every camp task you can think of. The cordwrap handle can also be used for a million things in a pinch.
