Question Canvas Covered leather

I have some light canvas in AUSCAM ( Australian Army Camouflage) pattern. It is water resistant.

Now I want to make a sheath which will basically be a pouch sheath with retaining strap/stud in AUSCAM.

I am just competent in making a leather sheath.

Now I have two theorys on how to do this:

1. make the sheath and then glue the canvas to the sheath.

2. glue the canvas to the leather and make the sheath.

What effect will it have on the leather being completely coated in glue -

has anyone attempted anything like this - any ideas would be welcome

Phantom23, Of the two options, I recommend making the sheath then gluing the material to the outside. There is a picture of a sheath that was made with cordura wrapping glued over a plastic type sheath here:

Please let us know how it turns out for you (pics maybe? ) and any tips you used or discovered on the "how to" of making your particular sheath design.
