What to Charge

This is kind of off topic, but I was hoping I could get some imput. I was asked what I would charge to buff golf club heads.
Not remove any scratches, just buff the finish already there. This guy is buying and reselling used clubs. I told him I would try them at $4 per club for the first batch of 8 clubs. Sounds low to me after thinking about it, but it looks like this could be a regular thing with him.

Any thoughts?

Mike, it could be a nice sideline. You never know where hobbies/occupations will lead you, thats the fun part of living.

There are all kinds of abrasive wheels and buffs out there. I use the "chicken plucker" nylon string type to remove fire scale off forged copper medallions, then cotton buffs with buffing compound for the final finish.

How long does it take you to do each one? Sounds like a nice side venture for a couple extra bucks...but sounds like you're having the same trouble I always do, how much to charge...I'd always just do everything for free if it weren't for my wife always reminding me about the bills!

Did that Satanite and Kaowool make it to you safely I sent?

I'd charge $4.00 for 10 and up and $5.00 for less than 10 clubs.

Mike, golfers normally don't think twice about what there paying for there toys, I'm sure the guy thats buying them and then re-selling them is making a bunch off them and most likly the only improvement that is being done to them is you buffing them. I have no idea as to how many clubs are in a set but 5 bucks a peice sounds fair to me.

I work at a golf course as a superintendent and asked what the pro charged to buff/clean golf club heads, he told me the cart guys do it and just work for tips. that's at a country club though so i wouldn't go by that. I'll keep asking around see if i find anything.
