Holster & sheath snap protectors.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the nice little plastic inserts that are put in the back of metal snaps inside a holster to protect handguns from getting scratched. Typically round & blk. with a post which fits into the snap post to keep it in place. I'm not familiar with the proper name for these but it has been impossible to find a supplier. If anyone knows where these could be purchased your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Over 70 years making holsters and knife sheaths and have never seen or heard of the aforementioned plastic snap protectors. Sorry it took so long for a reply but I was hoping someone could come up with the information!----Sandy

The only thing I can think of would be found in the Automotive upholstery field. Fasteners similar to what you describe are used to fasten interior panels and other upholstery type situation.

I sincerely doubt they would have the strength to stand up to the repeated. use and abuse of a retention strap on a holster or sheath.

For the life of me I just can't find anyone who carries these, or seems to understand what I'm talking about. They're a small plastic disk with a post in the center that is inserted into the back of the male portion of a snap on the inside of holsters to prevent pistols from being scratched. I believe they would serve well to also protect wooden knife handles from being marred which is my purpose for finding a supplier.
Galco puts these on their revolver holsters. I might try & contact them to see what info they might share. I appreciate everyones assistance. If I can come up with any info I'll post it here as there may be others who can benefit from this nifty little device.

Maybe something similar to this? You could use an appropriate sized one with a male pin and possibly fit it in... epoxy or other adhesive?

Search 'Google Shopping' with the keywords: "plastic snap fastener"
