Jet belt sander/grinder advice???

Does anyone have experience with the Jet 248VS 2"X48" model 577842 ?

I don't know how long ago it was introduced, but it is very difficult to find a review on this model.
It seems to have some great features for knife making, and blade grinding. Such as, the variable speed control and 1 HP motor.

I am just getting into this and have not yet purchased many tools. I saw an opportunity to get one of these, like new, Jets at a great second hand price.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Please explain the metal files in your comment. Maybe you meant metal grinding belts?
I would certainly be open to recommendations for belt types.
