Looking for a special piece of damascus
Good day all,
I do knock out a few Scottish knives a year. Nothing special but I do have a special “request”. Amy and I are Rennies. Over the last few years we’ve been getting more involved. One thing we do is the King’s Guard. Mostly marching in parade but last few weekends we’ve been doing escort duty for the king and Queen. Really fun actually. One of the requirements is to be armed. In parade we carry swords but then it it easy as the crowd is backed off. Escort duty is a bit more difficult with sword. So Amy has been borrowing my McRae dirk. She wants me to make a piece for her. Will be making her a heavy court piece. Since this is her I am breaking out a piece of Ed Caffrey’s Damascus. But while this is big enough for the cross guard I need to have a pommel. I am hoping I might find someone who could help me out with a piece big enough. Hoping for a piece 2”x2”x1” after scale removed. Can be any random or similar pattern. Hoping to find a cutoff piece no one would care about and will not be heat treated so I’m not to worried about delamination, around $50-$100 range. I know it is a pipe dream but worse people can say is no. Price range is not me being cheap but not wanting to to upset her. She is very frugal. __________________ I cook with a flair for the dramatic, and depraved indifference to calories |

If you don't mind 1-1/8” X 1-3/8” X 1-1/4”
follow this link to page 15 for some Eggerling Mosaic Damascus, on sale half price. Best hurry it's selling fast.

Thanks. Could work but Amy’s not digging the patterns. Some more sedate like a random or twist.

Thanks. Worked perfectly. Didn’t even need scrap pieces as they sell by the inch on their Etsy store. Going to turn it as more of a spike then the disk style.
Think this will do the job? Sorry no matter what I do the system shows it upside down. Got a lot of cleaning and maybe a motor replacement in the future but hoping this will make the job easier. __________________ I cook with a flair for the dramatic, and depraved indifference to calories |
