RARE Bo Randall Miniature Knives
These are two original Bo Randall (NOT Gary) Miniature knives.
There are only 19 documented miniature knives that were made by Bo Randall prior to 1960. These are outlined in the Gaddis book. The first one he made was during WWII to be worn as a lapel pin on his own sports coat. 3 more were made in the later part of the 1940's for one customer in Missouri. The last original miniature knives that Bo himself made were completed in the late 1950's and sent to a company in Ohio to have them encased in Lucite and made into paperweights for exclusive authorized dealers or customers of the time. Whenever you hear collectors speaking about miniature Randall knives, they are talking about the ones made between 1965 to the 1970's by Gary Randall, not these rare knives made by Bo Randall. Out of the 15 of these made, 3 are in the museum, and I own 2 more. Lets find the remaining 10 of them! |

Hi Bill!
Thanks for posting these two rarities. These miniatures make a fine addition to your already spectacular collection. I took a look around but I'm afraid I don't have any of the remaining ten... Cheers! David __________________ It takes less effort to smile than to frown ! |

Funny stuff Bill. I don't think Canadians are allowed gun shows, are they?
I saw that one on eBay Bill. Good get! If it would only have been an Astro.... I scored a nice early mod 23 the other day, stag with 7 spacers, placing in in probably 1972 production. I caught it just 1 hour after it was listed. I will post photos when in hand. Great score Bill, love all the rare early stuff. Sam |

I have one of these currently up for bids on eBay. It was for Abercrombie and Fitch. Covered in lucite. Please feel free to take a look.

To my old eyes it looks like the same person hand wrote the "RANDALL MADE KNIVES - ORANDO, FLA." under the knife. So I'm guessing that this is one of the missing ten miniatures that were made by Bo Randall which the original poster of this thread, Ta2bill referred to.
It would appear Bo crafted these blades for various RMK dealers. Hopefully others with more information will help out. Cheers! David __________________ It takes less effort to smile than to frown ! |

Well folks, it looks like someone really wanted Ramaset87''s mini Bear Bowie. It attracted 12 bidders and a late sniper picked it up for a mere US $3,800. (BTW, that's about $4800. in Canadian funds!)

Long way from the $250.00 I gave Mr. York for it many years ago. I then sold it to Rhett for $1700.00. From there I have no idea what was paid until this auction. Yes these were made by Bo and yes that is Bo’s hand writing. Neat pieces of Randall history.

The mini's Bill references as being made by GTR, are not actually made by GTR. He made the ones on the board hanging in the museum, and possibly a few more, but the majority were made in the shop by employees. I will have to find out if there was someone specific assigned that task, and I have my ideas.
Nevertheless, minis from this period, this second group behind the early Bo made examples, we refer to as GTR miniatures. |
