Finally got to start on another knife.

Been out of town, finally got to work on liner lock today.
Cut down all my pins, bent my spring and it looks like everything is going to lock up nicely. I always had problems with the detent ball until I read Don's book. Need to file down lock bar a bit and I will be ready for bolsters and handles.

Making this one for my son, and of course he picked mammoth ivory if dad was paying.
I like to use the button head screws and put the knife together and then attach my handles with separate screws. If I try to use flat head screws and countersink it doesn't line up as well because you don't have the hole thru the liner to line up your pins. The only way I know how to do this is turn over the handle and drill a relief spot where the button head screw head is and this allows the handle to fit flush. What are some other ideas folks?

I usually use button head screws and counterbore the head a little below the surface on the outside.

I am not sure if it is the flash but, I like the look of the mammoth ivory in the pic where you say you are a slow worker as compared to the finished. I think it is because in the first pic the mammoth ivory looks a little darker. However I am not knocking it as too me that is one of those personal preference things, it looks great in either pic!
