I need Pine Pitch....

I need to buy some pine pitch to melt and mix with my wax. Anyone have a catalog source I believe there was a catalog from a shop back east for Colonial LARP that so,ld it I can't remember the name, or details.....

Do a search for resin suppliers. I'm thinking that I saw it on one of those sites when I was considering doing a resin coated cotton tape wrap on a handle.

I am assuming you are treating thread for stitching. I use "Bull Riders rosen" that can be purchased at most any saddle store or anyplace they sell cowboy rigging. The rider reaches into the bag and gets the rosin on his glove, then quickly rubs it up and down his bucking reign. It heats up and melts to give him a tihgt, nonslip, grip. The cost in Salina, Utah at the saddle shop was $7.00 for a about a pound.

I use Bees wax and a bit of pure "neadsfoot oil" to mix with the rosin. I heat it it until it will pour and pull it like "taffey" intil it cools and will stay in a ball. I run the rosin ball back and forth on the thread intil it melts a smooth coating. This keeps the stitches nice and tight.

If I have guessed incorectly about your use, please forgive me. After all, I'm just an old fat man that has been rode hard and put away wet.
