brass

I have two large brass spools . I understand they were used in the neck of a large valve
Not having a way or the knowledge to melt them down to a useable form. I would like to trade them for smoothing I can use. I was thinking about some Damascus that could be heat treated like 5160 . but I am open to suggestions. let me know if any one is interested and I will get pictures and weight. Thanks
