Unusual knife

Here is a different knife, found it while crusing US Patents, subject was (butcher knife).

There are some amusing patents, type in any subject in the search box. I like to sort by oldest first.

Am collecting a file of old patent drawings to be used as clip art, the old drawings are great.

Looking back 60 some years ago to my birth I remember seeing a nurse carrying something that looked like that. I don't think she smoked cigars...........

When I was a kid stewing hens were beheaded on a stump, neck held between two nails and a hatchet did the deed. All the neighbor boys and I would watch the proverbial, "Running around like a chicken with it's head cut off" Great fun for Nebraska kids. My mother would butcher 40 or so every summer when local farmers were raising new laying hens.

Thos old stewing hens made the best darn soup.
