nickel silver brazing rods

do you think 1/16"x 36" nickel silver brazing rods with the melting point of 1680 and a
SOLIDIFICATION 1665F would weld in a can of powder properly or do you believe the
melting point is to low and it would puddle up? its make up is COMP. COPPER 46-50, ZINC BAL. ,NICKEL 0.90-11.0 , LEAD 0.05, ALUMINUM 0.01, SILICON 0.04-0.25, PHOSPHORNUS 0.25, OTHERS 0.50 MAX.

nickle silver is white brass. the only can i would use it in would be a can of mokume.

the nickel silver will puddle up. can welding reaches temps of 2400-2500. use 99 nickel rods intead

Try using nickel (pure) welding rods with the flux removed. Can get it at most welding supply houses.

thanks guys for your oppinions, nickel 99 welding rods and nickel in sheet form that most damascus makers use is all im coming up with, i see these patterns that chris marks and the rest of the moasic masters come up with just cant believe thats all they use- to come up with them fanastic patterns ---moasic is my demon this year im going to try stainless steel mixed in high carbon and mild next for bolsters thanks again bruce bryant
