1st pipe hawk....huh

Hi fellers, haven't posted in a while. So I figgered I make a little something different. A pipe hawk made of copper and an oak haft. Hope y'all like it...Bud

Here it is with somethin to compare it to...He, He

I cold forged it and drawfiled (thats right!!) Head is 1 1/4" long, cutting edge 3/8" and haft is about 2 1/2". Patinated with Liver of Sulpher and Aquafortis

He's trying it out now, he'll get back to us later.

looks good bud! It gives me flashbacks of back when I was doing arrowheads for the KITH. Big hands trying to do micro filing.

HeHehe, naw, quit smokin yrs. ago, but, it won't smoke tho. It's bored but only for looks. Hah, if I thought drawfilin it was tough, can you imagine drilling a 3/16" stem without coming thru the side... You'd suck your brains out

Neato

Very neat. There are collectors who specialize in minatures. I made a knife and a small anvil for a collector from Reno NV years ago.

Uh I cant remember what gas is produced from copper burning but If you where able to suck through it I wouldnt reccomend it. After these last few articals I am thinking of making myself a pipe hawk. Has anybody ever tried them with tobaco? If so what quality of smoke was it with an english style pipe tobacco? I preffer meershaum myself but such high maintanence.
