Question leather handle swiss army knife

i found a leather handle swiss army knife today, i have never seen one like it before.it is about 4" long with blades closed, and it has 2 cutting blades, a awl, corkscrew, screw driverand a can opener. it looks really old? on the large blade there is a number , it is 288, and there are 2 letters M.B. can anyone tell me its origin? i seem to think it could be old army issue? but that is just a guess..... any info would be great ....
