Another recent job
Here is another job I finished recently. This is a pair of Antonio Fogaruzzi (sp?) knives. On is a folder and one is a fixed blade. I don't often get to do all scroll jobs it was kind of a nice break form the norm.
Feel free to pick them apart. The two knives had slightly different shapes. The front bolster on one is about 1/8" longer than the other and the triangular back bolster area on the other is wider than the first. This made it a challenge to design them as a pair. I could not just copy what I did on the first knife on the second but I tried to make them match as best I could. Ray |

That's a good idea Ron,
What do you use for a transfer ink to use with the stamp? I tried to transfer the design from the first to the second with a tracing. That's when I found out they were not shaped exactly the same and had to draw a second design. Ray |

Ray I will coat the stamp with grafite and then coat the metal with daymar varnish if i want or need a reverse of the same pattern i will use tape and do a pull from the mold and then to the metal i can get an exact copy of the first engraving by doing this .. i hope this helps you can give me a call and we can talk on the phone also .. ron

Looks great Ray. I enjoy studying your work. WHat is the width of the gold inlay on the scrolls? Thanks for show it.

Joe,
If I remember correctly they are about 20 thou. wide. They taper in some places. Ray |
