bear jaw knife picture
My friend shot this bear about 2 years ago with a bow and arrow. I had him save the jaw bones and they got dried out good so I made a knife out of one of them. More of a keepsake than anything. The blade is D-2 with brass where the knife and jaw bone meet.
check them out and give me the plus and minus's. I still have the other jaw bone to make a knife out of so before I make the other one I will get some feedback on the first one. |

I can't see a thing wrong with it, looks pretty good. A bigger pic might reveal something, hard to say. It might be cool to put some leather wrapping or something in the spot with no teeth next to the big canine at the end.

Ya done good. That's a nice looking piece and looks like it would handle well. Good job!

Interesting looking handle. People would surely notice it. My first thought after seeing its a jaw, was it would come in handy as a hoof pic for a horse in a pinch.

Awesome looking handle. I agree with AwP about the leather. Thanks for sharing.

Great looking piece, Only thing I can say, and this is strictly personal taste, is mabe give it a rub down with a stain of some type. And possibly seal it.
I think it is a great way to have a keepsake from a hunt!! God Bless Mike __________________ "I cherish the Hammer of Thor, but I praise the hand of God" |
