Checkering file

Is there such a thing as a curved checkering file? I often use a checkering file to put in thumb notches on the top of the blade,
but a customer would like some notches on the bottom just behind the guard, where the handle is curved. I suppose I could cut them individually, but I like the standard depth and spacing I get with a checkering file -- I've never been a "color inside the lines guy" when freehanding them.

you can get checkering files with just 2 rows of teeths....that way you can file inside curves with no problme...just file away and then change to the next groove...works like a charm.

Here is a 2 line checkering file listed on Brownells website, I think this is what Jens is speaking of. Says it is discontinued but they may still have some in stock.

Hope this link helps.

Hi guys,
Do somebody know where I can find/buy a 10 lpi checkering file. And like Jens, I'm looking for a 2 rows 16lpi file. Is Brownells the only company making/selling these?
Some European (Switzerland/Germany) manufacturers maybe?
Some tips for online shops would be great.

Thx,
Bernez

Grobet is a big maker of checkering files. They have a factory in Switzerland.

Hi Fritzer..thank you for your kind offer but it seems like it wont be necessary..I gave them a call and asked why..they only replied that for some reason the site told it was not possible for no reason....so I gave them my order by phone and it is on its way.
