Model 12-6 Little Bear Bowie
Another one that I have just located, and not seen before in Jack's cataloged examples.

Posted Hal Moore-Randall Knife information about COL Compton in wrong line so I've moved it. However, please note that I've updated the picture catalog on page 8 to reflect all recent information and knives posted. Thanks Bill and others for continuing to add to the record.

Great contribution Jack. Yet another piece of Randall history uncovered for us to enjoy. It's great to see the connections being dusted off and brought to light.

Little Bear
Here it is, in my possession!
I couldn't ask for a better example that this one. Thanks for looking! Last edited by Ta2bill; 10-13-2017 at 09:20 PM. |

That's a nice one!! I 'rescued' the one from Ebay! : ) The sheath has seen better days but the stone looks mint. __________________ "He who seeks refuge in price often takes the worst soaking" |

I found that sheath to be interesting with the "B" specific Little Bear designation!

[QUOTE=Jacknola;483111]Here is another Delrin-handled knife, apparently from the same collection as the Bowie above (both cryptically etched "K-144" on reverse side.) I've never really cared much for the big Bowies or the toothpicks, but this is a beautiful knife - (but with a crappy solder job). It is also currently on E-bay, which is the source of the pictures.
Did someone on here purchase this knife? I would love to have it as a mate to my 12-6" Little Bear! |

I posted that Dec. 2, 2015, almost 2 years ago. I think Ronnie may know who the seller was (can therefore possibly track buyer), and also what the etched symbols stand for.

Here is a new one to add to the archives! I was shocked at how much the handle has yellowed on an otherwise mint knife!

I mated up the Model 13-12" Arkansas Toothpick previously posted with a Model 12-13" Raymond Thorpe Brass Back Bowie to assemble what I feel is the rarest of King Faisal sets to be found. (Of course, there is only ONE true King Faisal set)
My "Holy Grail" knife was a Thorpe Brass back with an Ivory handle, until I found this one! Needless to say, Delrin is MUCH rarer than Ivory as a handle material. Enjoy! |

Nice find Bill. Man, if this one doesn't draw Jacknola out of the hinterlands to post, he must be up to his eyeballs in life! I sure miss his posts. He is a great asset to the Randall community.
Haven't heard from Ron in awhile either, miss him too. We are all a bit quiet. Hopefully the resurfacing of Bo's early fancy spacer Hunter at blade will generate more interest. The owner will be displaying it just outside the hall in the lobby with the other displays. Thanks for posting this fine knife Bill. Sam |
